How long will it take to copy data from an organisation to another organisation?
It depends on the amount of data being copied. It is a background process and may take hours
depending on the amount of data. You can close your browser while the data is being copied -
you’ll get notified through an email when the copy is finished.
Will any data in the source organization/space/apps be altered?
No, we do not make any changes in the structure or data of the source
Will all the status-posts, items, comments, tasks and files be included in the transfer as they
are from the source workspace/apps to the target workspace/apps?
All the data from the existing app fields will be copied to the target workspace/apps. It
will be created in the new workspace/apps by the user who is connected to the to the Copy
Tool (instead of the original creator of the data).
The Copy Tool will add extra comments on the item/status with the name of the original
author and the original date of creation of the items/status. Please refer the image below
on how the data will appear in the target workspace:
Please note if your app has data from deleted fields, they will not be copied. Only the
data from currently existing fields of an app will be copied.
If I want to copy a workspace to another organisation - will it maintain all the relations
between the apps?
Yes, all the relations between apps within the copied workspace will be maintained. If an
app from one workspace has relationship with app in another workspace, the relation between
these two apps will be maintained only if both the workspaces are copied together in one
If I want to copy an app from one workspace to another - should I also copy the app related to
it, to maintain the relationship between the apps?
Yes, when an app is copied from one workspace to another, the apps related to it should also
be copied together in one process to maintain the relation between the apps.
Will the unique Podio IDs and item IDs in the copied app remain the same as in my source app?
No - the unique Podio IDs and the item IDs are auto-generated by Podio and can therefore not
Will all the calculations in an app be copied?
We can only guarantee the copy of the data fields and not the calculation fields, however
simple calculations which refer to fields in the same app will be copied without any
Calculations that use fields from referenced apps will also work if the referenced apps are
copied in one process. Calculations that go to multiple levels (one calculation which uses
another calculation from another app etc.) may not work as intended and you will need to
recreate the calculations after the copy is finished.
Why are some apps missing in the destination spaces after the copying process is finished?
Apps that has one or more workspace contact fields can not be copied if the destination
organization is created after 24th November 2016. Podio no longer supports this type of

What is the reason for the discrepancy in the order of destination items compared to the source app?
The items are copied using the Podio Clone feature, which may encounter error for certain items due to access limitation in Contact field and may not get copied.
In such cases, the missing items are created separately after the copying is finished for items that doesn’t have any error.
Therefore, it is possible for these items to be in a different position than their corresponding items in the source app.
Will the workflows in my apps also be copied?
Workflows will be copied if you use these copy types: 'Organization Move', 'Workspace Move'
or 'App Move'.
'App to App Move' does not support workflow copying.
Will the reports in my apps be copied?
No, sadly we do not copy the reports.
I paid for a copy and it doesn’t appear to work - what do I do?
We provide full money back guarantee if the copy tool doesn’t work properly. Please contact
us using the contact form within 72 hours of finishing the copy operation and we will have a
look at the problem.
It may just be taking a longer time if there’s a lot of data to be copied. We do not provide
guarantee for the calculation fields. We support all the app fields that are available in Podio as of 01/June/2015. Please see the screenshot below.
